The story of Jarl ("war chief" or "Count") is closely linked to that of God Rig (Heimdall). Rig, on his third and last trip to Midgard, reached a lavish mansion. In 1314 Roland de Wykford held half a knight's fee of the Earl of Gloucester, and the other moiety was held by Mary de Wintershull.
